Robins Cinema, Camberley Photo blog – e-museum series

Whenever I drive past Robins Cinema on the London Road in Camberley, I do feel sad that it has been allowed to get in such a poor state.

Although I have only lived in the borough since 2003, I did spend some time in Camberley in my early 20’s as I used to have a girlfriend who’s parents lived in College Town, Sandhurst and during that time I visited Robins Cinema and watched a few films although I cant remember which ones. My wife has just reminded me that we also went to watch a movie there not long before it shut. Blimey, I know how to show a girl a good time!

I recently stumbled across some images on the internet from a group of people who are referred to as “Urban Explorers” or UE. These people have gained a bad reputation as vandals that break in and cause damage under the guise of UE. I spoke to one UE member who contributed to this photo blog and he said “The truth is we respect and admire these old places”.
